We'd rather ship a smaller surface that works well than a larger one that doesn't. Below is what we're actively building, in the order we expect to release it. No invented dates - only honest status.

    Full desktop experience in the browser

    Available in Beta

    Remote desktop is already available in beta, with active testing and development underway as we improve performance, reliability, and the overall experience.

    • Direct P2P via WebRTC - low latency, high quality

    Builds, needs full QA

    A native desktop client for people who'd rather have an app icon than a browser tab. Built with Tauri, sharing the same protocol and end-to-end encryption as the browser client.

    • Same workspace, same sessions, same encryption - just outside the browser
    • Lightweight install, native window controls, native notifications
    • For users who prefer a dedicated app over the browser experience

    AI agents inside the code editor

    Planned

    Prompt directly from the browser code editor and have an agent act against the real filesystem on your device - no copy-paste between tools.

    • Native integration in the workspace code editor
    • Acts against the actual remote filesystem, not a copy
    • Same trust boundary as the rest of DirectGate - your device, your code
    • Coming after desktop access lands
